A week ago the boys in Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls did their first ever gig in beautiful Royal Albert Hall. The gig was a part of the Teenage Cancer Trust series, and a good chance for the band to show off some new tunes for their London crowd.
We got there early in the day and I spent a couple of hours just being overwhelmed by actually BEING THERE! In ROYAL ALBERT HALL!! OMG!
Walking around the empty venue was beyond surreal, and an experience I'll never EVER forget.
So much so that I didn't take a whole lot of pictures. I was too busy taking in all the details, looking at all the carvings and the decoration and the red velvet and the chairs that could twirl around to look in different directions and the boxes and the murals in the garage/backstage entrance area and the food in the catering and the pictures in the hallways of bands and artists and Last Night Of The Proms and ahhhhhh!!!
I mean, LOOK AT THIS PLACE!!
After soundchecking the guys welcomed family and friends backstage, watched the support acts (Will Varley and Idlewind) and got ready to go onstage. It was a pretty amazing gig, good growd, good singalongs and the guys seemed to be having a lot of fun.
The boys are now doing their Australia/New Zealand tour, check them out if you have the chance. Check back here for interviews and concert pictures from To Kill A King, Against Me!, and more.
