Oxford based music journalist and photographer Alyssa started out as a musician, playing a range of instruments including flute, piano and guitar. She studied classical music at Stange VGS, which included music theory (history of music, genres etc), practical subjects such as composing, arranging and conducting, as well as vocal lessons.

Upon finishing her studies, she formed a booking company with friends, Xiabalba, arranging concerts with big national and international names, and letting local bands fill the support slots. This turned out to be quite the successful formula, and they eventually also took on other arrangements and festival jobs in their home town.

After moving to Oslo and studying at Kunst_Design Fagskolen, she has been working as Editor-in-chief, photographer, and music journalist for Musikknyheter.no, as well as a freelance photographer doing band portraits. Alyssa has now relocated to the UK, living and working in Oxford and London.

Bands she has interviewed and shot portraits of range from Imagine Dragons, Royal Blood and My Chemical Romance, to Mew, All Time Low and The 1975. Her work has been featured in, among others, Stache Magazine

Artists who have later used her work includes Magne Furuholmen (A-ha/Apparatjik) as well as Imagine Dragons, and her photos can be found in several Oslo venues such as Bushwick.
